Gongdid Design, the Thai-born brand known for its signature pleated fabrics, showcasing the signature aesthetics from the brand’s all time carry over items – the pieces that mark significant shifts in the  brand’s design philosophy and challenge the comfort boundaries.

Peach Wichcha Soponpattana, the founder and creative director of Gongdid Design, shared insights into the collection’s genesis. “It started from a mere collection of my interests. I love traveling, especially in the winter. However, with all-year-round summer-like weather in Thailand, it inevitably limits me to bring my own clothes, even though the pleats I create are very much travel-friendly and lightweight.”

The collection explores the creative potential that lies beyond the brand’s comfort zone, which primarily employs a calm, muted dreamy palette with the enhancement of the beloved tartan patterns. The brand resorts to innovative materials and techniques, bringing together handcrafted and machine-processed pleats. From PU leather to nylon duck down, every «ingredient» of the line was hand-picked to conceptualize the Gongdid Design’s philosophy of ‘effortlessly casual’. The idea was to sketch out the subtle yet quirky charm, some nature-inspired look that on the other hand work so well for the urban environment. The wavy pleating pattern resembles the reflection of mountains on the water – creating the kind of garments that could instantly put one into a cinematic mood, which won’t be disturbed by the outer world as there’s nothing flashy about the brand’s styles.

“The capsule has been an exhilarating journey from its inception through the design and rigorous product testing,” shared the brand’s creative director. “Each detail harmonizes my diverse interests, and I hope this capsule resonates with our audience as much as it does with me.”
