Clothing reflects the spirit of the zeitgeist and serves as a tactile sensor for art and culture – a vibrant means of expression in a rapidly changing society. The guests will share their experiences and explore creative solutions in light of current market conditions – whether due to ongoing economic challenges or constantly shifting consumer behavior. Topics to be discussed include fashion as a statement and the multifaceted aspects of sustainability, production, marketing, the circular economy, and the fashion industry’s significance to the local economy.

Julie Delaremanichère is a French freelance communications consultant with experience in the institutional sector of the Parisian fashion ecosystem. She is particularly interested in the relationship between fashion, craftsmanship and industry. Through his work at the intersection of fashion, media, brands, and talent, he has built a career based not only on understanding what makes fashion relevant, but also on what happens behind the scenes. Today, he focuses on the intersection of fashion, digital culture, and the people shaping the future.

Bogdan Dzhafarov (RU/AT)
is a Vienna-based fashion insider, stylist, journalist, and talent manager with over a decade of experience behind the scenes in the industry. Through his work at the intersection of fashion, media, brands, and talent, he has built a career based not only on understanding what makes fashion relevant, but also on what goes on behind the scenes. Today, he focuses on the intersection of fashion, digital culture, and the people shaping the future.

Paul Schalek (AT)
Paul Schalek is the creative force behind the label PIOTR PAULSON. He creates clean lines and unexpected accents lend classic styles a cosmopolitan and contemporary flair. The fluidity and lightness of the design is transformed through various drapings into a sculptural, unique, and wearable work of art. Playfulness and functionality are by no means a contradiction. Piotr Paulson evokes the spirit of the ’80s and fits perfectly into today’s urban landscape and its zeitgeist. Each piece is one-of-a-kind and produced 100% in Paul Schalek’s own workshop.

Francesca Zangrillo (IT/DE)
Francesca Zangrillo is invited as Artist-in-Residence at the MQ and a fashion designer with her label DREIZEHN. Francesca Zangrillo opposes the machinery of fast fashion and its endless cycles of speed, exploitation, and waste. DREIZEHN has its roots in the symbolism of death and profound transformation. It represents the decay of the old to make way for the new. Drawing inspiration from this ongoing cycle of rebirth, her studio explores the boundary between art and fashion through the upcycling of discarded textiles. She collects fabric scraps to weave forgotten stories into new narratives. Francesca Zangrillo’s label is a profound homage to craftsmanship, in which every stitch is a conscious act of creation and transformation.

Maria Oberfrank (AT)
Maria Oberfrank is a fashiondesigner – PITOUR and organizer of VIENNA FASHION WEEK. In addition to her fashion label Pitour, she has also been running the shop/showroom Combinat at the MuseumsQuartier Wien since 2005. Combinat offers fashion and accessories for individualists from various labels, complemented by exhibitions and events. In 2009, she founded VIENNA FASHION WEEK together with her two partners. This year’s edition will take place from September 14 to 19 at HALLE E+G, taking fashion-conscious visitors on a journey through the local and international fashion scene, accompanied by a shopping area, talks, and side events.
