Karim Temimi – Fashion Arteur
Karim Temimi works at the intersection of sculptural fashion, contemporary art and cinematic imagery. Under the term ‘Fashion Arteur’, he views fashion not merely as clothing, but as an artistic medium: as a body image, a role, a mask and a visible manifestation of inner states.
His works combine collections, sculpture, staging and narrative visual spaces. The result is not traditional fashion designs, but figures and atmospheres that make psychological tensions visible. For Karim Temimi, clothing becomes the surface of the inner self: it reveals what remains hidden within the body – fear, loss of control, desire, protection, overwhelm and transformation.
With his third collection, *The ROOM BEHIND THE MIRROR*, Karim Temimi interprets *Alice in Wonderland* not as a child’s fairy tale, but as a psychological space. The figures appear as symbols of inner states and psychological shifts: loss of identity, distortion of reality, compulsion, fear, escape into fantasy, feeling overwhelmed, and the sense of no longer being able to control one’s own body or role.
The collection translates these states into silhouettes, contrasts in materials and exaggerated forms. Playful elements meet restlessness, distortion and darkness. Proportions, masking, tight silhouettes, overloaded details and fragile surfaces reflect a world in which perception becomes unstable and beauty turns to unease.
The ROOM BEHIND THE MIRROR presents Wonderland as an inner state: a place between dream, memory, projection and loss of control. For Karim Temimi, fashion becomes a form of visual psychology. Clothing becomes a mask, a role, a sanctuary and, at the same time, an expression of a psyche that oscillates between fantasy and disintegration.
