MARINÀ

MARINÁ, a fashion brand based in Bratislava, Slovakia, was founded in 2018 by designer Marina Žiaková. The brand is built on the principles of minimalism, versatility in wear, playful interaction between garments, and sustainable design with minimal or zero textile waste during production.The designer draws inspiration from both Slovak and international art, creating collections that reference the work of visual artists and conceptual creators such as Július Koller, the poet Andrej Sládkovič, sculptor Erna Masarovičová, avant-garde artist Kazimir Malevich, and kinetic and constructivist artist Milan Dobeš. MARINÁ has presented its collections at Bratislava Fashion LIVE!, Vienna Fashion Week, Košice Fashion Week, Bratislava Design Week, and the World Fashion Festival Awards in Dubai, where the brand won The Best Dress award with its patented transformable garment, UFOdress©.

The current collection, Growth, is inspired by the discoveries of the medieval mathematician Leonardo Fibonacci, including the Golden Ratio, the Fibonacci Spiral, and the Fibonacci Sequence. These mathematical principles are interpreted and applied by the designer throughout the garments in the collection, creating a harmonious balance between art, mathematics, and contemporary fashion.
