While raining heavily outside, MERO brings the elegance and lightness of a summer vacation on the Côte d’Azur to the runway of MQ VIENNA FASHION WEEK. The collection “Endless Vacation” combines refined cuts with the carefree spirit of the 60s – a play of elegance and freedom.
Hungarian designer Peter Mero takes his classic silhouettes to a new level with the Spring-Summer 2024 collection. He plays with the typical accentuation of the waist that characterizes MERO. From skillfully chosen cut-outs to elegant waist belts and expertly placed geometric lines, the designer showcases his full range.
For those familiar with 60s fashion, similarities to Twiggy and Brigitte Bardot are evident, with their sexy interpretation of nonchalance. Mero breathes new life into the mini-dress and imparts an air of carefreeness to long evening gowns.
Snapshots of the past reinterpreted
Inspired by the fading colors of 60s photographs, MERO transports the audience at the Fashion Show presented by Aurum 999,9 Mag Book directly to the Côte d’Azur. “In the silhouettes, the refined and casual elegance of the sunny Riviera blends with the sexy and cheeky nocturnal revelry,” describes Peter Mero about his collection.
Transparent long mesh gloves evoke ball gowns and the brand’s beginnings while simultaneously breaking away from any heaviness. Elegant evening dresses with perfectly placed folds, seamlessly transitioning into trains or shoulder details, exude classic sophistication. Paired with the bright blue hue, it feels like a homage to the Mediterranean itself. By playing with sequins in various shades of yellow, the designer captures the feeling of sunshine on the skin. A true vacation that should never end.
