The Austrian-Hungarian designer EDITH AGAY celebrates the 25th anniversary of her label. At VIENNA FASHION WEEK, she presented a ‘renaissance’ of popular pieces from previous collections in a new interpretation.
EDITH AGAY led through the show in purist colours. She opened with airy white looks. First there were lace details in black, then two-coloured pieces and finally outfits consisting of only black. This was repeated to bring the bright red colour onto the catwalk step by step. The fourth colour to appear was gold.
The repertoire of details included narrow scarves and volants behind the shoulder. Sometimes shorter ones, sometimes longer ones. Pleated and crinkled fabrics were also recognisable features of the collection. With just a hint of fabric, EDITH AGAY repeatedly drew attention to the models’ silhouettes. The designer’s architectural fabric structures skilfully showcased bodies and combined fashion with visual art.
She not only presented delicate, light designs: the black coats and floor-length black evening dresses in particular hinted at a more serious mood. The collection also included evening wear with plenty of radiance, with juicy gold pieces, sequinned dresses and glittering knitwear. EDITH AGAY‘s anniversary collection, full of festive glamour, is a real eye-catcher.
