On Tuesday, SABINE KARNER presented literally heavenly evening gowns and glittering statement outfits at the VIENNA FASHION WEEK. The models on the catwalk were not only radiant from the inside.
Glitz and glamour were the order of the day at SABINE KARNER. The metallic leather boots were particularly eye-catching and she combined them with almost every outfit, no matter how shimmering it was. She worked with sequins, brocade and glittering threads for the collection. This formed a stark contrast to the simple, dark colour palette she used. It was reminiscent of stars in the night sky: the fabrics of the long evening dresses flowed from black to dark blue to light blue around the models’ legs. The handful of looks in rich orange represented a special pop of colour.
For her new collection, SABINE KARNER has achieved a balance between feminine silhouettes with playful details and strong, menswear-inspired cuts. This combination is impressively embodied in a look where a dark, strict blazer meets an almost completely transparent skirt.
The designer did not skimp on details in her evening dresses. Feathers, fringes and large bows were used prominently, whether on the décolleté, shoulders, back neckline, sleeve hems or all over the fabric. One thing is clear after SABINE KARNER’s show: with her pieces, women are the protagonists of the evening.
