Fashion is much more than just fabric and cut. It can be protection, a statement, or pure performance — and sometimes it crosses the line into art.
Designers who transform the everyday, reassemble the past, or transfer personal images onto textiles operate precisely in this field of tension. Their designs are not mere garments, but expressions of attitude, a joy of experimentation, and narrative power.
Idan Yoav, for example, works exclusively with used materials. Old textiles are transformed into new pieces that are deliberately designed to be worn both in everyday life and on stage. The current collection, “Dragon Empire,” combines upcycling with mythical symbolism and tells a story of strength, elegance, and power.
Metamorph from Budapest thinks fashion in detail: here, glasses become individual art objects. The result is frames that are precisely crafted yet experimental in appearance – like small sculptures for the face.
At Unt!tled. Wearable Rt, it’s all about color. Founder Anna Egger-Piskernik transfers her own paintings onto fabrics, turning them into wearable art. From resort wear to red carpet looks, she creates unique pieces that are not just garments, but expressions of individuality.
Wonder Anatomie, on the other hand, draws inspiration from Thai markets. The “Anatomy of a Market” collection plays with motifs of fruits, fish, and flowers interwoven with anatomical structures. Even everyday objects such as boxes and baskets find their way into the silhouettes – familiar and foreign at the same time.
At Atena, every piece begins with an image. Atena Neuhuber paints her own designs, which are then printed on silk and crafted into bespoke fashion. The result is calm, elegant creations that treat art and clothing as equals.
What all these designers have in common is their view of fashion as something that can do more than just clothe: they see it as an expression, an experiment, and a way of passing on stories.
