Young Talents in the Spotlight

When young designers bring their ideas to the catwalk, something magical happens: fabrics become stories, cuts become characters, colors become emotions. At VIENNA FASHION WEEK 2025, three fashion schools will be offering insights into the creative future of the industry.

Michelbeuern Fashion School – Woven Narratives
Under the title “Woven Narratives,” 22 graduates of the Michelbeuern Fashion School College will present their final collections. Each collection is a world of itself—sometimes playful, sometimes provocative, always full of personality. Over the course of two years, the students developed ideas, refined cuts, and transformed fabrics into wearable works of art. The result: fashion that not only appeals to the eye, but also tells stories.

Sitam – Traditional Cutting Techniques
The Sitam Fashion School combines creativity with precision. Here, young designers learn not only how to design collections, but also the classic craft of tailoring – using a cutting system that dates back to an Italian tradition from 1947.

Fashion Academy Vienna – RE:FORM
This year, the Fashion Academy Vienna presents the theme “RE:FORM – Threads of Change.” Sustainability and creativity go hand in hand here: surplus materials, production leftovers, and even garments that would otherwise have been incinerated are transformed into wearable statements. Each collection shows how fashion can act as a mirror of the times – a call for conscious action and, at the same time, a feast for the senses.

These three schools demonstrate that young designers are not only concerned with technique and aesthetics, but above all with one thing: the courage to find their own voice. Here, fashion becomes a playground for ideas, experiments, and stories that linger long after the catwalk.
